Information you provide
When you use the case-intake form or contact IEC directly, IEC may receive your name, contact details, organization, role, jurisdiction, deadlines, conflict-check names, and the matter description you choose to provide.
How information is used
IEC uses this information to perform an initial conflict and fit review, respond to your inquiry, evaluate potential services, protect the security and integrity of the website, and comply with applicable professional or legal obligations.
Do not send sensitive information initially
Do not submit student names or identifying details, diagnoses, IEP content, student records, medical information, social security numbers, financial account information, or other sensitive information through the public intake form. Use student initials only. If IEC proceeds with a discussion after conflicts are cleared, a separate method for secure file exchange may be provided.
No engagement created
Submitting information does not create an expert-client, consultant-client, attorney-client, or other professional relationship. An engagement begins only after conflicts are cleared and the scope is confirmed in a written agreement.
Service providers and disclosure
Website hosting and data-storage providers may process technical and submitted information on IEC’s behalf. Embedded educational videos are delivered by YouTube using its privacy-enhanced domain, and YouTube may receive technical information when a resources page loads or a video plays. IEC does not sell personal information. Information may be disclosed when required by law, to protect rights or security, or with your direction or consent.
Retention and security
IEC retains inquiry information only as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including conflict checking and business records. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Cookies and technical data
The website may use essential technical storage and receive basic request information needed to deliver and protect the service. IEC does not currently use advertising or behavioral-tracking cookies on this replacement site.
